The Hauppauge Fire Department responded to an auto accident at Veterans Highway and New Highway. Engine 3-8-14 operated at this scene under the command of Assistant Chief Thomas Kriklava. Fortunately even though both vehicles were heavily damaged only one of the two drivers involved were injured and those injuries appeared minor. Commack Volunteer Ambulance aided the injured driver and transported him to the hospital. Fire Department personnel disabled the vehicles electrical systems (disconnected the batteries) and applied absorbent to spilled fluids. All equipment was back in service as of 1142 hrs.

The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on the Long Island Expressway in vicinity of exit 58. Units on scene found a vehicle that had sustained serious impact damage from being struck in the rear. Hauppauge firefighters in conjunction with Suffolk County Police Emergency services unit extricated the female driver. The injured driver was taken by Suffolk County Police Helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. The Hauppauge Fire Department operated at this scene with Engines 1 & 14 and Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 under the command of Chief of the Department Michael Gagliardi. The Central Islip Fire Department was notified that this call was within their response area. All Hauppauge unit were secure as of 1236 hrs.

The Hauppauge Fire Department was notified of a possible hazardous condition at 45 Rabro Drive. On the arrival of representatives of the Fire Department it was determined that the north wall of the building had collapsed, fortunately the wall fell out and none of the building occupants were injured.This section of the building was ordered evacuated and The Islip Town Fire Marshals and Building Department were notified. After a investigation of the situation they ordered this section of the building closed until a survey is conducted by a qualified structural Engineer.

The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Veterans Highway & Ledgewood Drive. Responding equipment found a two vehicle accident with one of the vehicles overturned on its roof. F.D. personnel along with police officers from Suffolk County Police Emergency Services extricated the male drivers so Commack ambulance personnel could treat and transport.. The other driver of the other vehicle also suffered minor injuries. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Engine 3-8-3 operated at this incident under the command of 2nd Assistant Chief Thomas Kriklava. All units were back in service as of 0835 hrs.

The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Express Drive North and Motor Parkway. There were five people injured at this scene in this two vehicle accident. Two Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulances treated and transported the more seriously injured persons including one child who was in vehicle pictured and was in very serious condition. Fire Department medical personnel treated the less seriously two injured victims, a female adult and a female child who were transported by a Smithtown Fire Department ambulance. Engine 3-8-1 & Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 operated at this scene under the direction of Assistant Chief Thomas Kriklava. All unit were back in service from this incident by 1256 hrs.
