The Hauppauge Fire Department was requested to send a rapid intervention team to the scene of a house fire on Franklin Street in the East Brentwood Fire District. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 responded along with 1st Assistant chief Ray Woods. East Brentwood Engines under the Command of Chief Tate Reilly along with a Truck from Brentwood Fire Department rapidly gained control and extinguished this fire. An Engine from Central Islip was also on scene for relief purposes. One firefighter (Brentwood), sustained minor burn injury to the neck and was attended to by members of the CI-Hauppauge Ambulance Company. The cause of this fire under investigation by the Islip Town Fire Marshal & Suffolk Police.

The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle fire westbound on the Long Island Expressway between exits 56 & 55. However, this vehicle was found to be burning considerable west of this location at the Wicks Road overpass. The Brentwood Fire Department was notified that our Department would be operating in their area and Engines 3-8-14 & 3-8-1 under the command of Captain Edward Minder extinguished the serious engine compartment fire in this 1987 Buick Regal. The cause of the fire was believed to have been a major mechanical malfunction involving the vehicles engine. All equipment was back in service by 2059 hrs. |

The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched for an automobile fire, possibly as result of a motor vehicle accident. What responding personnel found was a vehicle which had left the roadway and crashed into a wooded area adjacent to the Long Island Expressway. There was some concern that the vehicle may be have been occupied but a check of the vehicle and surrounding area indicated no vehicle occupants were present. Since this vehicle crashed and burned under highly suspicious circumstances the Arson Squad from the Suffolk County Police was requested to investigate. Engines 3-8-11, 3-8-4, 3-8-3 operated at this scene under the command of Chief Of Department Michael Gagliardi and Assistant Chief Ray Woods. All units were back in service as of 0526hrs. |

The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted to a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle with another vehicle involved. Firefighters found a 1999 Mercedes SUV overturned and a 2002 Dodge with considerable damage. Firefighters utilized hydraulic tools to remove the drivers side of the overturned Mercedes to facilitate patient treatment and removal by ambulance personnel from CI-Hauppauge Ambulance. Hydraulic tools were also utilized to do a door pop on the 2002 Dodge. A total of six persons were injured. Two Ambulances from Central Islip-Hauppauge Community Ambulance and one from the Smithtown Fire Department transported these victims to hospitals. Engine 3-8-4, Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 operated at this scene under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Ray Woods. All equipment was back in service as of 1207 hrs. |

The Hauppauge Fire Department responded to an auto accident with entrapment. A 2005 Chevrolet had left the roadway and returned apparently overturning. The female occupant appeared to have suffered only minor injuries. The Fire Department utilized hydraulic rescue tools to force open vehicle doors so that ambulance personnel could treat,remove and transport the victim to the hospital. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 & Engine 3-8-1 operated under the command of Chief of Department Michael Gagliardi.
