   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle accident with a reported occupant trapped in front of 2056 Motor Parkway Between Bedford Avenue and Parkway Gardens Boulevard. Responding units found a vehicle had left the roadway in front of this address ending up on its side. The male occupant while conscious and alert was unable to exit the vehicle and EMS Personnel could not reach him. F.D. personnel in conjunction with the Suffolk County Police Emergency Service Personnel removed a portion of the vehicle's roof so the victim could be aided and removed by Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance Personnel. Their patient was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital. Engine 3-8-11, Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 ,Engine 3-8-14 operated at this incident under the Command of Chief Thomas Kriklava. All Units were back in service as of 2122 hrs

   Units 3-8-9, 3-8-14, 3-8-13 operated at this scene under the Command of Assistant Chief Germaine and Chief of Department Kirklava. A Toyota Highlander had left the roadway and struck a tree trapping the driver who was a rather large man. In order to allow the ambulance crew from Central Islip -Hauppauge Ambulance 3-26-17 to properly aid the man and remove him from the automobile, it required the Fire Department with some assistance from SCPD ES # 2 to remove both side of the vehicle in it entirety. The extent of injuries to the driver is unknown to this author. All F.D. units were back in service as 0259 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted to respond to an auto accident at the intersection of Express Drive South and Lincoln Boulevard. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Engine 3-8-11 operated at this scene under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava and Assistant Chief Raymond Germaine. One male was extricated from a pick-up truck and rendered medical aid by the staff of Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance who transported this individual to a local Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle involved refused medical attention. All Hauppauge Fire Equipment was back in service as of 2216 hrs.

   There were no injuires in this accident that occured on November 7th 2009 at 0843 hrs and involved this vehicle and a tractor trailer. Apparently the tractor trailer squeezed this car into this position. There appeared to have been some damage to this vehicles underside. Units Heavy Rescue 3-8-9,Engine 3-8-11 and Fire Police 3-8-10 operated briefly at this incident under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava and Assistant Chief Kenneth Furuno.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle motor vehicle accident where a vehicle (1997 Land Rover) had left the roadway eastbound at or near Gatewood Drive and Veterans Highway and striking heavily a steel sign stanchion and turning on its side.
The female operator of this vehicle was heavily entrapped by the Dashboard and Steering wheel and both Hauppauge F.D. personnel and Suffolk County Police Emergency Service Personnel went to work to extricate the victim while she was under the care Commack Ambulance emts. The Patient was extricated at 1054 hours with what appeared to be some severe injuries to lower extremities.
Heavy Rescue 3-8-9, Engine 3-8-4, Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at this scene under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Raymond Germaine.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department once again responds to another rather serious accident at the intersection of Express Drive North & Motor Parkway. Unlike the accident that took place the day before at this intersection which resulted in a fatality, the persons involved here were only moderately injured. Had their been a passenger in the car that might not have been the case. Engines 3-8-4, 3-8-3, Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Fire Police Operated at this incident under the Command of Captain John Lombardo. Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance provided all EMS Services under the Command of their ranking officer Chief Paul Ryan.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Hoffman Lane on August 31st 2009 at 1229 hrs. Engines 3-8-4,3-8-1 operated at this fire which was difficult to access due to its location at the end of a long driveway and it being parked in the woods. The vehicle a 1992 Cadillac was being started after a long period of being parked in this location. Unfortunately undergrowth and leaves had built up under the vehicle and was most likely ignited by the vehicle exhaust system. The operator of the vehicle was uninjured. All Hauppauge Personnel and equipment operated under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Raymond Germaine.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire in the vicinity of Express Drive South and Hoffman Lane. Arriving Chief Officers found a well involved 2007 Nissan that was seriously exposing a number of vehicles, the building and the electric and phone service wires at 3000 Express Drive South. Engines 3-8-1, 3-8-4, supported by Engines 3-8-3, 3-8-14 and Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 knocked down the fire rather quickly and checked all exposures for extension. Five vehicles were damaged. The Suffolk County police Arson Squad was requested due to the highly suspicious nature of this fire. The incident commander for this incident was Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava and he was aided by his Deputy Chiefs Raymond Germaine and Kenneth Furuno. All Hauppauge apparatus was back in service as of approximately 00:45 Hrs.

   Engine 3-8-1, Heavy Rescue 3-8-9, Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at this incident under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee walked away. The driver of the other vehicle was aided by personnel from Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance who transported him to the hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted for a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident with a utility pole down. A vehicle headed northbound crossed and left the roadway striking the pole in question located at the Southwest corner of Old Willets Path and Eagle Lane. The female operator was found with very minor injuries in the vehicle. Fire Department Personnel utilized the windshield saw to remove the windshield so she could be removed via CI-Hauppauge Ambulance Personnel. Crews from Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Engine 3-8-4 operated at this incident under the command of Thomas Kriklava Chief of the Department.

   An East Brentwood Engine returning from a airport emergency that Hauppauge F.D. also was responding to came upon an mva overturn. As Units 3-8-9, 3-8-1, 3-8-30 were returning from the airport they arrived very quickly. All occupants had self extricated and all injuries seemed minor from the two vehicles involved. Ambulances from East Brentwood, Brentwood Legion, and Lakeland Fire Department responded to the scene to aid the multiple victims involved. Many thanks to the mutual aid units as Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance was still operating at the airport at the time of the incident. All units operated under the command of Hauppauge Chief Thomas Kriklava.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted to Motor Vehicle accident with a fire in a tree. On arrival of Fire Department units they found a single vehicle accident with a car having left the roadway and striking a pole in front of 1174 Veterans Highway. The Suffolk County Police who were already on scene were in search of the vehicle operator who was no where to be found. In conjunction with the Police, Fire Department personnel secured the scene, notified LIPA to respond. For a period of time one the primary wires was burning and causing the tree to flare up. All Fire Department Equipment took up at 0452 hrs with SCPD remaining on the scene to secure the area. Engines 3-8-4 and 3-8-1 operated at this incident under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted for a Motor Vehicle Accident with a report of a person trapped. Engines 3-8-11, 3-8-4, Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 operated at this scene under the command of Chief Kriklava and Assistant Chief Germaine. This 2003 Dodge Pick-up truck left the roadway in vicinity of 480 Old Nichols Road and struck a large tree and then coming to rest in bushes near the entrance to the Nob Hill Condominiums (This was in the Lakeland Fire District and they were notified we would operate in their District). The occupant that was in the vehicle was very seriously injured and required extrication by the Suffolk County Police Department and the Hauppauge Fire Department. Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance personnel aided this victim and transported this patient to Stony Brook University Hospital. Due to a report of another occupant being in the vehicle F.D. and Police Personnel searched the immediate area but no one was immediately found. Suffolk Police to continue the investigation. All Hauppauge Fire Department Equipment back in service as of 2147 Hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle accident which was a head on collision. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9,Engines 3-8-4,3-8-1, Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at this scene under the command of Chief Of Department Thomas Kriklava. F.D. medical personnel aided the four injured persons with the Hurst tool being used to pop the drivers door of the van involved. Chief Kriklava requested additional ambulances through med-com in addition to the two Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance that responded on the initial alarm. Those Ambulances were from the Exchange Ambulance of the Islip's and East Brentwood Fire Department. At least two of the persons involved appeared to have sustained serious injuries. All Hauppauge Fire Department were back in service as of 1725 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a reported auto extrication. On arrival of F.D. units it was found that first responders were able to access the victim. Crew from C.I-Hauppauge Ambulance rendered aid to the female driver who appeared to have sustained some serious injuries. The driver of the van was uninjured.    The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire to the rear of 63 Oser Avenue. Engines 3-8-13,3-8-14 operated at this incident under the command Lieutenant Stephen Feron Jr. The operator stated that vehicle a 2003 Pontiac Vibe would not start and vehicle was jump started successfully. Vehicle was then left unattended for a short period while it idled with the operator returning to find the engine compartment involved in fire. No one was injured and all units were back in service by 1516 hours.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted for a car fire in the parking lot of 102 Motor Parkway. Responding firefighters under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava found a 2001 Pontiac with heavy fire in the engine compartment. Just prior to the Fire Departments arrival owners of the surrounding vehicles were able to move them before being affected with the exception of one 2004 Lexus which sustained some fire and heat damage to the rear. One Suffolk Police Officer was almost struck a hydraulic strut that rocketed from the vehicle and travelled approximately fifty feet. No one was injured and the owner of the vehicle stated he had just earlier parked the vehicle but did not note any anomalies. Fire is believed to be accidental in origin. Engines 3-8-4 and 3-8-1 operated at this incident supported by the Fire Police 3-8-10. All units were back in service as of 0924 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire in vicinity 145 Ricefield Lane. Engines 3-8-14, 3-8-11, 3-8-1 under the command of Assistant Chief Ray Germaine found a heavily involved tractor trailer burning in a parking lot of 60 Davis Drive. Fortunately the driver who had been sleeping in the cab escaped with minor injuries. He was awoken by the smoke. As you can see the tractor sustained maximum damage and the trailer which was empty of contents was heavily damaged. In order to suppress this fire AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) was utilized due to a significant amount of diesel fuel involved. Central Islip Hauppauge Ambulance transported the driver to Stony brook University Hospital and the Assistant Chief Germaine notified the Town of Smithtown and NYS DEC concerning the fuel spillage. The cause of this fire is believed to be a malfunction in the tractor engine compartment has it had just undergone some field repairs earlier in the day. All Fire Department equipment was back in service as of 0402 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department responded to a report of a car fire on Gilpin Avenue. Engines 3-8-14 and Engine 3-8-11 under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava found a 1996 Nissan Sentra heavily involved in fire in the intersection of Motor Parkway and Gilpin Avenue. The lone occupant had managed to escape unharmed. The vehicle occupant stated the vehicle just stalled out in the intersection and that smoke and then flames erupted from under the hood. The fire was declared accidental and all F.D. units were back in services as of 0648 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted for a car fire in front of #735 Caleb's Path just prior to the intersection of Old Willets Path. Apparatus that responded found a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis with Heavy Fire In the Engine and Passenger Compartments. The operator of the vehicle was uninjured. Engine 3-8-14 supported by crews from Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Engine 3-8-11 quickly Extinguished the fire. The overall operation was commanded by Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava. All units were back in service at approximately 1625 Hours. The exact cause of the fire was undetermined but based on the description of the operator and other witnesses was accidental in origin.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department alerted to a report of a motor vehicle accident with a possible pin and vehicle fire. Fortunately there was no fire and no one trapped and only one vehicle operator, the operator of the BMW required medical attention which was rendered by the ems staff of CI-Hauppauge Ambulance. Fire Dept personnel safed both vehicle electrical systems and applied absorbent to spilled fluids. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 operated at this incident under the direction Engine One Captain Robert Wind. All Fire Department units were back in service as of 1029 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident involving at least one vehicle overturned. Arriving emergency responders found two vehicles involved with everyone out of the vehicles. Two ambulances from Commack Ambulance aided all the injured and Hauppauge F.D. personnel disabled vehicle electrical systems, applied absorbents to spilled fluids and removed debris from roadway. Fire Police assisted Suffolk Police with traffic Control. Engine 3-8-1, Heavy Rescue 3-8-9, Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at this scene under the Command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava. All Hauppauge Equipment back in service as 2000 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted for a report of a vehicle fire as a result of an mva on Old Willets Path Between Mackay Drive and Rutland Gate. A 2000 Chrysler being operated by a male driver left the roadway and struck some trees and bounced back into the roadway. A Hauppauge Fire Department member passing by determined that the driver had escaped the vehicle on is own and was uninjured and then this member of the service called for the fire department response. Engines 3-8-14 & 3-8-11 operated at this incident under the command of Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava. All apparatus was back in service as 0135 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department while returning from an earlier motor vehicle accident 1st Assistant Chief Germaine and Engine 3-8-14 came upon another Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Veterans Hwy and Wheeler Road. One Female driver was injured and she was aided by both Hauppauge F.D. Emts and Smithtown Ambulance Emts who transported her to Stony Brook University Hospital. Engine 3-8-14,Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at this incident under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Raymond Germaine. All Hauppauge units were back in service as 1130 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was alerted to an motor vehicle accident at Express Drive North and Motor Parkway with some one possibly seriously injured and trapped via the Islandia Code enforcement officer. There were three vehicles involved with two of them pictured here. There was a total of five persons injured with one requiring the Suffolk police helicopter for transportation to stony brook hospital. F.D. personnel assisted Central Islip Hauppauge Ambulance Personnel and the North Shore Paramedic. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9(operated removing the passenger side door of one of the vehicles), Engine 3-8-14 and Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at the scene. Engine 3-8-11 stood by in a nearby parking lot for the Helicopter landing. The overall Fire Department and Ems Operation was under the Command of 1st Assistant Chief Ray Germaine. All units were back in service as of 1053 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in vicinity of Fairview Place and Wheeler Road at 0614 hrs. Units 3-8-11,3-8-9 operated at this incident under the command of Assistant Chief Raymond Germaine. The driver who amazingly walked away from this incident after striking a pole and tree refused medical attention.    The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident truck vs. car at the intersection of Expressway Drive North and Motor Parkway. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9, Engine 3-8-14 and Fire Police 3-8-10 operated at this incident under the command of Assistant Chief Ray Germaine. The Crew of 3-8-9 assisted the North Shore Paramedic by removing the drivers door of the car (a PT Cruiser) so the patient an elderly gentlemen could be properly aided. F.D. Personnel also assisted the medical staff with extricating the victim. The driver of the truck which was carrying paper goods was uninjured. Engine 3-8-11 was special called to standby for a helicopter landing. SCPD Helicopter transported the patient to Stony Brook Hospital. F.D. personnel also applied absorbent to spilled fluids. All Hauppauge Equipment was back in service as of 1157 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched for an auto accident in the vicinity of Roosevelt Boulevard and the North Service Road of the LIE. Chief Kriklava found a vehicle which had left the service road and overturned a number of times almost striking the house at this corner. The Lone Occupant was already out of the vehicle and was aided by a crew from Central Islip-Hauppauge Community Ambulance. The services of the Fire Department were not required.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an auto accident with a vehicle overturned in front of 895 Motor Parkway. The vehicle a 2007 Nissan with a female operator had apparently left the roadway struck a pole and overturned. On arrival of Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and Engine 3-8-4 the victim was already out of the vehicle. She was aided by Fire department Personnel and Ambulance personnel from the Islip Exchange Ambulance. All Hauppauge equipment operated under the Command of Captain Robert S. Wind. All Units were back in service as of 1503 hrs.

   The Hauppauge Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Veterans Highway & Express Drive South involving a car and a school bus that was only occupied by the driver. Heavy Rescue 3-8-9 and crew operated at this scene to extricate the driver of the automobile who was attended to by personnel from CI-Hauppauge Ambulance who also transported this individual to the hospital. The driver of the school bus was apparently uninjured. Hauppauge Fire Equipment which operated at this scene under the command of 1st Asst. Chief Raymond Germaine were back in service as of 0940 hrs.
