Very nice Service conducted
by the Chiefs Office. Speakers included County Legislator
Andrew Crecca, Reverend Walden, and Chief Zara. The names
of 343 firefighters were read off as well as both city police
and port authority officers. At the times an aircraft struck
a tower, the siren was sounded one cycle at the time. Three
sets of 5-5-5-5 were sounded at the time of collapse of each
tower. Lou Marcus read a very moving rendition of the Gettysburg
address. Lou Marcus, Assistant Chief Woods, Lieutenant Giannelli.
Ex Chiefs Barz & Mooney read out the names of emergency services
that were lost. A number of members stood honor Guard including
some guests from other Departments (CI,s White Pants). Residents
of Senior Plaza Adult Home also came by to deliver a donation
to our memorial fund for Pete & Ray. |
